Approach & Unique Features
We offer a two-module comprehensive certificate program in LASER course that equips the candidates with the necessary theoretical and technical knowledge along with valuable clinical experience.
At the end of the course the students:
A. Will be proficient in the intricacies of LASER physics and their mechanism of function.
B. Will be empowered to decide what LASERs to procure to fulfill their needs.
C. Will be able to start a successful LASER assisted dental clinic using a LASER of their choice.

• Introduction to LASER Physics
• Biophysical Interactions
• Modes of Operations of LASERs
• LASER safety for LASER assisted dentistry
• Clinical applications of diode LASERs
• Live demonstration of clinical procedures
• Hands-on and patient treatment
How to equip Dental office
Laser dentistry practice, Management/ Clinical applications
(High Power Diode Lasers (810- 980 nm)
Intensive didactic lectures on high powered LASERs and their use on hard and soft tissue therapy.
Contact Session 2:
• Erbium Lasers: Mechanism and clinical applications of erbium lasers
• Live demonstrations of clinical procedures
•Hands-on training and patient treatment
Assessment:
Students will be assessed based on the following components during the second contact session
• Seminar Presentation and journal article review
• Written Exam comprising of Multiple-Choice Questions & short answers
• Viva Voce
• Clinical Exam
Eligibility:
BDS from any recognized Institution/ Dental School.
Course Duration: 6 months
Contact Sessions: 2 sessions of four days each spread 6 months apart
Venue: Department of Advanced Courses, Manipal College of Dental Sciences, Manipal.
