MIV had the pleasure of hosting an enlightening session on "Advanced Virology Research," featuring distinguished speakers Dr. Soma Chattopadhyay, Scientist F, Institute of Life Sciences (ILS), Bhubaneshwar, Dr. Madhur Kulkarni, Professor & HOD-Pharmaceutics, SCES’s Indira College of Pharmacy, Pune, and Dr. Abhijit Das, Assistant Professor, University of Arizona, Tucson, USA. The session delved into advanced research and innovative strategies for combating viral diseases.

Dr. Madhur Kulkarni opened the session with a compelling presentation on the "Applications of Nanotechnology in the Treatment of Viral Diseases." She highlighted the potential of nanoscale materials to revolutionize the way we approach viral infections, offering novel solutions for targeted delivery and enhanced therapeutic efficacy.

Dr. Abhijit Das followed with a talk on "Translational Nanoscale Technologies to Improve the Delivery of Anti-Infective Agents." His insights into the latest advancements in nanotechnology underscored the importance of precise delivery systems in enhancing the effectiveness of antiviral therapies, potentially reducing side effects and improving patient outcomes.

The session concluded with Dr. Soma Chattopadhyay's presentation on the "Control of Viral Infections," specifically focusing on her work on the chikungunya virus. Dr. Soma shared her research on the mechanisms of viral replication and the development of strategies to inhibit the spread of this debilitating virus.
