It concentrates on the areas of study, which are pertinent to the European and Indian contexts. MCES invites graduates from across disciplines for a full-time PhD program, who are interested in contributing to the research domains integral to the Indian and European Studies.
Doctoral students at MCES can choose from a range of topics in the context of India and Europe within the following thematic fields:
The full-time doctoral curriculum at MCES is a 36-month program, leading to the award of a doctoral degree on completion. During the first year, students undertake coursework for completion of mandatory credits. In the second year, they undertake fieldwork, which is a crucial and exciting element of the PhD program. Doctoral students work very closely with their supervisors and receive feedback on a regular basis. All of them are highly encouraged to spend a part of their research period in one of the partner universities in Europe thereby stimulating the exchange of knowledge and best practices relevant to their areas of research. Graduates interested in pursuing the PhD program at MCES may enrol themselves under Dr TMA Pai PhD fellowship program as and when announced.
Dr TMA Pai PhD fellowship is a full time, three-year, structured PhD program offered at Manipal Academy of Higher Education. The intake of PhD scholars takes places twice in the year; January and July each year.
