  • Ms. Kavyasri Immadisetti, PharmD Intern, Dept. of Pharmacy Practice received scholarship from AIDS Society of India (ASI) to attend the ASICON 2016 to be held at Hotel Sahara Star, Mumbai from 7-9 October 2016.The scholarship includes conference travel and accommodation. Her research titled "Evaluation of potential drug-drug interactions among the people living with HIV with Highly Active Anti-Retroviral Therapy at Kasturba Hospital" is accepted for oral presentation
  • Ms. Srujitha Marupuru (PharmD Intern), Department of Pharmacy Practice won the first prize for the poster titled “Development and Evaluation of Onconurse Practice- A Smartphone Application for Oncology Nurses” co-authored by Nimmi Z, Sonal Sekhar M, Anisha S in the Conference on Technological Applications in Healthcare (TAHCON-2016) held during 17 and 18 September 2016 at Manipal Academy of Higher Education, Manipal
  • Fifth year Pharm.D students Ms.Sangeetha Iyer and Mr. Munawar Peringadi Vayalil attended EuroHeartCare – 2016, Annual Congress organized by Council on Cardiovascular Nursing and Allied Professions (CCNAP) of European Society of Cardiology (ESC) and Hellenic Society of Cardiovascular Nursing which was held on 15th & 16th of April 2016, at Athens, Greece.

2015

  • Ms Kesia Shaji Oommen, PharmD (Intern), Department of Pharmacy Practice has been awarded third prize for poster presentation during the Manipal Cardiology Update 2015, which was held on November 1, 2015.
  • Ms Puspita Sahu of I year M Pharm, Department of Pharmacology, has received the prestigious Prof M L Kharana Medal – 2015, Prof M L Schroff Medal 2015 (Pharmacy students – Merit Awards) for her creditable performance in her final year B Pharm examination held in May 2015 in MCOPS. She received this prestigious award in the inaugural function of Indian Pharmaceutical Congress (IPC) held in Mysore on December 19, 2015.
  • Mr Raghuraman Manimaram, II year M Pharm, Department of Biotechnology, received Best Poster Presentation award for the poster entitled “Dinicotinamide    Diselenide- a Probable Radioprotector” has won second prize in Pharmaceutical Sciences category at 1st International Conference on Healthcare and Technical Research held at Manipal Academy of Higher Education during December 22-24, 2015.
  • Mr Mradul Tiwari, Research Scholar, MCOPS, received Best Poster Presentation award for the poster entitled “Anticancer potential of biosynthesized copper nanoparticles in human lung adenocarcinoma” during the seminar organized by CRS-Indian Local Chapter, Mumbai and Manipal Academy of Higher Education, Manipal at Manipal Academy of Higher Education Bengaluru Campus  on December 5, 2015.  
  • Ms Alekhya Lavu, Ms Sravani Polepalli and Ms Shilpa Sundar, III PharmD students from MCOPS represented Manipal Academy of Higher Education at the All India Inter University Squash tournament held at Dayanand Stadium, Haridwar and bagged the runner-up place in the event.
  • Ms Bhavana B Bhat, Research Scholar, Department of Pharmacy Management won the best young researcher award for her oral presentation titled “Quality of Life and Clinical Efficacy of a Locally Used Polyherbal Formulation Among Type II Diabetes Patients” in the Global Summit on Herbals and Natural Remedies held during 26-27 October 2015 at Chicago, USA. Ms Bhavana has been awarded with travel grant from ICMR for her travel and registration. She is also been granted financial support for accommodation from Centre for International Cooperation in Science (CICS), Chennai.
  • Ms Kesia Shaji Oommen (PharmD Intern), Department of Pharmacy Practice has been awarded third prize for  poster presentation during the Manipal Cardiology  Update 2015, which was held on 1st November. The poster was titled 'Statin and the Risk of Development of Cataract in Cardiovascular Patients : A Pilot Study' , authored by Kesia Shaji Oommen, Kshipra K, Rahul Thripathy, Sonal Sekhar M and Ranjan Shetty.Manipal Cardiology Update is a one day conference conducted every year by the Department of Cardiology, KMC, where eminent cardiologists and physicians deliver lectures on various aspects of the new developments in the field of cardiology. 
  • Ms. Treasa Mathews and Ms. Parvathy R Menon, PharmD (Interns), Department of Pharmacy Practice, won second prize in quiz competition conducted by Aster Medcity, Kochi as a part of One Day National Conference on ‘Clinical Pharmacist Perspective towards Patient Safety’ on 25 September 2015.
  • PharmD students (Ms.Nishitha N Prabhu , Ms.Thanmai V, Ms.Kshipra K, Mr.Amal Raj, Mr. Prem Lal, Ms. Parvathy Menon, Ms. Zoya Ahmed, Ms. Manasa Ch, Ms. Gopika Krishnan, Ms. Anuseeya Nadar, Ms. Praisy Ann Jacob and Ms. Hanisha Shah) and a MPharm student (Ms. Krishna Geetika)Dept. of Pharmacy Practice bagged ISPE scholarships to attend the ISPE’s 9th Asia Conference on Pharmaco-epidemiology, November 14-16, 2015 in Thailand.
  • Mr. Alkesh Kumar Lokhande, Research Scholar, Deapartment of Pharmacy Practice received International Society of Pharmaco-epidemioly (ISPE) Travel Fellowship to attend ISPE 9th Asian Confernce on Pharmacoepidemiology going to be held during 14-16 November 2015 at Bangkok, Thailand.
  • Mr. Asim Priyendu, Research Scholar, Department of Pharmacy Management received International Society of Pharmaco-epidemioly (ISPE) Travel Fellowship to attend ISPE 9th Asian Confernce on Pharmacoepidemiology going to be held during 14-16 November 2015 at Bangkok, Thailand.
  • Mrs. Bhavana B Bhat, Research Scholar, Department of Pharmacy Management received ICMR Travel Fellowship to attend Global Summit on Herbal and Natural Remedies going to be held during 26-27 October 2015 at Chicago, USA. 
  • Mr. Prateek Jain, Research Scholar, Department of Pharmaceutical  Biotechnology received DST-SERB Travel Fellowship to attend 75th FIP World Congress of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences 2015 going to be held during 29th September to 3rd October 2015 at Dusseldorf, Germany.
  • Ms. Pallavi Shetty, Research Scholar, Dept. of Pharmaceutics won Second prize in PowerPoint competition- PhD students section, organized by Pharmacists'- Organization for Women Empowerment and Research (POWER), India during January 2015.
  • Ms. Smita Sagarika Behera, M Pharm Part II - Drug Regulatory Affairs won first prize in PowerPoint competition - PG section organized by Pharmacists'- Organization for Women Empowerment and Research (POWER), India during January 2015.
  • Ms. Manasa and Ms. Jenny, fifth year PharmD students won the second and third prizes, respectively at the Pharmacology Lecture Updatecompetition, hosted by the Department of Pharmacology, Kasturba Medical College, Manipal. 
  • Ms. Sanchari Basu Mallik, Research Scholar, Department of Pharmacology received DBT-CTEP Travel Support to attend 75th FIP World Congress of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences 2015 scheduled during 29th September to 3rd October 2015 at Dusseldorf, Germany.
