AWARDS FOR EXCELLENCE

To encourage the students’ performance on academics, the college has instituted the following awards for meritorious students.

 

Distinction Awards

Any student who score a distinction (GPA 7.5 and above) in the university examinations held, would be honoured with distinction award on the Annual Day by the chief guest.

 

Academic Excellence Awards

      Academic excellence awards honours the students who excel in the university  examinations held at the end of every academic session.

  • Academic excellence award for the students who stands first, second and third in the classes of First Year, Second Year, Third Year and Fourth Year BPharm and First, Second and Third positions of First Year, Second Year, Third Year Fourth and Fifth Year PharmD.
  • Academic excellence award for first year MPharm students is given to the student who stands first in Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Pharmaceutics, Pharmacology,  Pharmaceutical Marketing, Pharmaceutical Administration , Pharmacy Practice, Pharmaceutical Quality Assurance , Drug Regulatory Affairs and Industrial Pharmacy specialisations.      
  • The Best Outgoing Student of M Pharm in Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Pharmaceutics, Pharmacology,  Pharmaceutical Marketing, Pharmaceutical Administration , Pharmacy Practice, Pharmaceutical Quality Assurance , Drug Regulatory Affairs and Industrial Pharmacy specialisations.      

 

Endowment Awards

  1. Late Prof N K Basu Award for the Best outgoing student in Pharmaceutical Chemistry subjects of B Pharm course. The award was instituted by Late Prof N K Basu, the first Director of our institution.
  2. Prof N Krishnamoorthy Award for the best outgoing student in all Pharmaceutics subjects of B Pharm course. The award was instituted by Prof N Krishnammorthy, the Second Director of our institution. 
  3. Dr P Gundu Rao's Meritorious Award for the best outgoing student of M Pharm course at Manipal College of Pharmaceutical Sciences. The award was instituted by Dr P Gundu Rao, the Third Director of our institution.
  4. Late Prof S Sankarasubramanian Award: For the best performance in Medicinal Chemistry & Pharmacology subjects of Final Year B Pharm course. The award was instituted by Dr K V S R G Prasad and Dr KK Srinivasan in the memory of their teacher Late Prof S Sankarasubramanian, the Fourth Director of our institution.
  5. Dr M N Guruswamy Award for the best performance in Pharmacology subjects of B Pharm course. The award was instituted by Dr M N Guruswamy, our former HOD of Pharmacology Department.
  6. Late Dr M A Iyengar Award for standing first in Pharmacognosy subjects of B Pharm course. The award was instituted by Dr M A Iyengar, the First HOD of Pharmacognosy Department and his fellow researchers.
  7. The BPRL, Bangalore and the Pfizer Ltd, Mumbai Awards for the First Rank holder in B Pharm. The prizes were instituted by BPRL, Bangalore and the Pfizer Ltd, Mumbai respectively.
  8. Anand Chandavarkar Memorial Scholarship for the final year B Pharm student who scores highest marks and pursues post graduation in MCOPS. The scholarship was instituted by M/s FDC Ltd in the name of Anand Chandavarkar.
  9. Atmaram Dattatreya Chandavarkar Memorial Scholarship : For the B Pharm graduate of MCOPS who pursues masters in MCOPS and secures highest marks in M Pharm Part - I . The award was instituted by M/s FDC Ltd in the name of Atmaram Dattatreya Chandavarkar.
  10. M/s MEDREICH Ltd, Bangalore Award for the Best M Pharm Part-II Project work (Dissertation work). The award was instituted by Mr B Srinivasa Reddy, M/S MEDREICH Ltd, Bangalore.
  11. Mr Deepak Kini and Mr Pradeep Nayak, USA Award for standing first in M Pharm Part I. The award was instituted by Mr Deepak Kini and Mr Pradeep Nayak, USA, Alumni of MCOPS.
  12. Institute of Pharmaceutical Education & Research Award for standing first in M Pharm Part - I programmes offered in the Department of Pharmacy Management of MCOPS. The award was instituted by Dr M Burande in the name of Institute of Pharmaceutical Education & Research.
  13. M/s Lupin Scholarship for the top performer in M Pharm – Part I Pharmaceutics specialization. The award was instituted by M/S Lupin Ltd, Pune.
  14. Hospital Pharmacy Foundation, Delhi Award for the Topper of Pharm D Programme. The prize was instituted by Hospital Pharmacy Foundation, New Delhi.
  15. Late Mr Joseph Colaco Award for the Best Outgoing Student of B Pharm programme. The award was instituted by Mr Michael Sreshta, our Alumnus, in memory of his friend late Mr Joseph Colaco”. 
  16. Mrs Murti Devi Yadav Award for the Top Performance in Pharmaceutical Organic Chemistry subject of B Pharm First Year. The award was instituted by Mr Ravi Kant Yadav, our alumnus (2003-07 batch), in the name of his loving mother Mrs Murti Devi Yadav.
  17. Late Shri K Padmanabha Bhat award for the best performers in the subjects of Pharmaceutical Quality Assurance of B Pharm. The award was instituted by Dr Krishnamurthy Bhat, Professor & Head, Department of Pharmaceutical Quality Assurance, MCOPS in memory of his loving father Late Shri K Padmanabha Bhat.
  18. "Param Pujya Guru" award for the best performers in Pharmaceutical Chemistry subject of III B Pharm. The award was instituted by Dr B S Jayashree, Professor, Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry, in the name of her Param Pujya Guru.
  19. "Param Pujya Guru" award for the best performers in Pharmaceutical Chemistry subject of IV B Pharm. The award was instituted by Dr B S Jayashree, Professor, Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry, in the name of her Param Pujya Guru.
  20. "Param Pujya Guru" award for the best performers in Pharmaceutical Chemistry of III Year Pharm D. The award was instituted by Dr B S Jayashree, Professor, Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry, in the name of her Param Pujya Guru.
  21. "Param Pujya Guru" award for the best performers in M Pharm - Part I Pharmaceutical Chemistry specialisation. The award was instituted by Dr B S Jayashree, Professor, Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry, in the name of her Param Pujya Guru.
  22. Late Shri Raghunadha Rao Kamineni award for the best performers in the subjects of Pharmaceutics and Pharmacology of Pharm D. The award was instituted by Mr Ramprasad Kamineni, our Alumnus, in the name of his loving father Late Shri Raghunadha Rao Kamineni.

 

Distinguished Alumni Awards

Distinguished alumni award honours the alumni of MCOPS who has made a remarkable contribution for the profession of Pharmacy. Every year selected alumni will be conferred with this award during the Awards and Annual Day celebrations of MCOPS.

 

Good Teacher Awards

This award is instituted by Manipal Academy of Higher Education to honour the teachers who do extremely well with the effective conduct of course. Manipal Academy of Higher Education gives opportunity to the students of second year and fourth year BPharm and third year PharmD at the end of the academic year, to choose, who in their opinion, the best teacher is. This award will be conferred during the Awards and Annual Day celebrations of MCOPS.

 

Good Supporting Staff Award

The outgoing students of BPharm are given an opportunity to select the candidate for Good Supporting Staff Award, from the non-teaching staff of MCOPS.

 

Dr N Udupa’s Awards

  1. Teacher of the Year Award

These award are instituted by Dr N Udupa, Former Principal of MCOPS and currently, Director, Research(Health Sciences), Manipal Academy of Higher Education for honouring the teachers and supporting staff who perform exceedingly well.

 

Travel/Contingency Grant Awards for Full time Research Scholars of MCOPS

These award are instituted by Dr N Udupa, Former Principal of MCOPS and currently, Director, Research(Health Sciences), Manipal Academy of Higher Education encouraging the young full-time researchers for presenting their research findings at well reputed conferences relevant to their field of research, in India and abroad.

 

Prize for Best Audio-Visual Teaching Material

This award is instituted by Manipal Academy of Higher Education to promote developing innovative and effective teaching methodology by the faculty. The interested faculty can send their entries upon call for the same which will be scrutinized by an expert panel at the Manipal Academy of Higher Education.

 

Dr TMA Pai Gold Medal for Outstanding Research

This prestigious award is presented by Manipal Academy of Higher Education for promoting high quality research among faculty and research scholars. The award selection criteria include research grants secured, publications and its impact factor etc. 

 

Life Time Achievement Award

This award is deliberated to a pharmaceutical professional who has rendered long term fruitful service for the profession of Pharmacy and MCOPS.
