Dr Mutalik completed PhD from Manipal Academy of Higher Education Manipal in 2004, followed by industry experience in Strides Arcolab Bangalore in R & D Department. At MCOPS Manipal, he served at various capacities, from Asst Prof to Head of the Department. He was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of Queensland, Australia for 3 years. He was a Visiting Researcher at A-Star Institute, Singapore in 2016. Dr Mutalik has published about 240 papers in reputed journals and has 13 patents to his credit. He has received several research grants from funding agencies like DBT, DST, ICMR, AICTE, SERB, BIRAC, VGST, BRNS and some pharmaceutical companies, worth of > INR 9 Crores. Dr Mutalik has received several awards such as Dr CV Raman Award from Government of Karnataka, APTI Dr AN Mishra Award, APTI Young Pharmacy Teacher Award, VGST Award for Best Research Paper, etc. He is a guide for 20 PhD Research Scholars and 40 MPharm students.

With these Academic, Research, Industry and Administrative experiences, Dr Mutalik aims to propel the institution to new levels of success, impact, and recognition.
