Program description
The Master of Optometry course offered by the Department of Optometry, MCHP is one of the best full-time master’s programs for Optometry in India. The department was established in the year 2002 and has been offering master’s degree since 2008. The department has a good multidisciplinary research team working on various research topics.
The department is a member of ASCO (Association of Schools & Colleges of Optometry), India, and WCO (World Optometry Council), UK. The department is working towards good collaborative research with the center for excellence in eye care in India and with international universities.
Focus
Our M.Optom program focuses on student-centered learning methods in providing basic to advanced levels of knowledge in all disciplines of optometry, facilitating practical and clinical exposure for skill training, and developing a key attitude for professional eyecare practice. The current program enables students to apply recent research to clinical practice, thus improving their competency as primary eye care professionals and making them lifelong learners by imbibing evidence-based practice in optometry.
