The Department of Orthopaedics, Kasturba Medical College, Mangalore, hosted the Intercollegiate PG Teaching Program under the aegis of the Canara Orthopaedic Society. The program commenced with a session on attitude, communication, and documentation by Dr. K.R. Kamath, followed by key lectures on splints and tractions in orthopaedics (Dr. Rajendra A) and common orthopaedic emergencies (Dr. Chethan Shetty). Participants also benefited from practical demonstrations, including plastering techniques (Dr. Prajwal Mane), reading radiographs (Dr. Atmananda Hegde), and a video demonstration on hand washing, OT scrubbing, and wound dressing (Dr. Vaishak Bhat).
The later sessions emphasized surgical preparation, with Dr. Keerthan Ranga Nayak discussing tourniquets and operation notes, followed by Dr. Saiprasad Baliga presenting first aid in Orthopaedics. The program concluded with long and short case discussions.
