The Department of Nephrology, in collaboration with the Research Funding and Grants Vertical, Kasturba Medical College, Mangalore, organized an interactive session on "Preparing a Research/Grant Proposal" on 19th December 2024 at the Medical Education Unit, KMC, Mangalore. The session was conducted by the renowned academician and researcher, Prof. Vivekanand Jha, Executive Director of the George Institute for Global Health, India, and Professor and Chair of Global Kidney Health, Imperial College, London.
The event was inaugurated by Dr. B. Unnikrishnan, Dean, KMC Mangalore, who emphasized the importance of promoting a robust research culture among students and faculty members. The session was moderated by Dr. Gagan Bajaj, Chairperson, Research Funding and Grants Vertical.
Prof. Vivekanand Jha, an internationally acclaimed expert in clinical nephrology and global health research, shared valuable insights on drafting effective research and grant proposals. He outlined the critical components of proposal writing, including identifying research gaps, formulating hypotheses, structuring proposals, and aligning with funding agency priorities.
