The "Foreign Exchange and Financial Literacy for Students" outreach event, organized by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) in association with Kasturba Medical College (KMC) Mangalore, was held on November 5, 2024. The program commenced with an inauguration and a welcome address by Dr. B. Unnikrishnan, Dean of KMC Mangalore, and Dr. Aditya Gaiha, CGM-IC, RBI. The first session, led by Mr. Priyaranjan, General Manager, RBI Mumbai, provided insights into the Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA) 1999, covering its relevance and key provisions. The second session by Dr. Varthya P. Naik, AGM, focused on essential financial literacy aspects, helping students understand critical concepts such as budgeting, saving, investing, and fraud prevention.
The event also featured an engaging quiz competition on financial literacy and foreign exchange topics, where teams from various institutions showcased their knowledge. Winners of the quiz were:
1st Prize: Dr. Swaroop A. P. and Dr. Avinash Rao G. from AJ Institute of Medical Sciences
2nd Prize: Ira Jain and Rishabh Naik from Learning Centre PU College
3rd Prize: Adhvyth Santhosh and Imsha Ayesha from MCHP Manipal
