Deakin University
Established in 1974, Deakin University is one of Australia's most progressive and visionary universities. It has been awarded the prestigious Australian 'University of the Year' in 1995/ 1996 for its ‘use of technology in teaching and learning’ and again in 1999/2000, for ‘outstanding partnerships and training’. The university is ranked in the top band of Australian universities by the Australian Government's Committee for Quality Assurance in Higher Education.
Based in the state of Victoria, the university has five campuses. It is reputed for using information technology to deliver courses in new and most imaginative ways. Deakin aims to give its graduates the edge in employment markets and prepare them for leadership in industry and other professions.
All Deakin students have choices about the way they study. Students can attend lectures on campus and receive face-to-face teaching; Deakin students can gain credit or advanced standing for relevant prior study or industry experience.
