State University of New York, Buffalo
SUNY Buffalo was established in the year 1846 and is the flagship institution in the State University of New York system. It is the largest and most comprehensive campus in the 64-campus SUNY system. It is a member of the Association of American Universities. The University at Buffalo School of Engineering and Applied Sciences — or UB Engineering — is the largest and most comprehensive public school of engineering in New York State. UB Engineering was founded in 1946. They currently have 156 faculty members.

- University at Buffalo ranks 38th in the nation for in-state students and 27th in the nation for out of state students
- U.S. News and World Report's 2012 edition of America's BestColleges ranked UB 106th on their list of "Best National Universities", and 51st among public universities
