Manipal Law School (MLS) has been presenting Master level law programs in emerging fields in various specialisations. In 2023, MLS has presented the first of its kind Master of Law (LLM) programmes focussed on Data Privacy and Cyber Law, and Information Technology Law. Continuing the trend, MLS is presenting two more LLM programs this academic year 2023 in Construction Law and Arbitration and International Invesetment and Commercial Arbitration. MLS has the unique opportunity and is suitably placed to provide specialized programmes in four distinct specializations. The specializations belong to a niche course in the market, as similar programmes do not exist in India. About the Centre for Post Graduate Legal Studies

The Centre for Post-Graduate Legal Studies was established in the year 2022.Centre was set up with the objective of producing professionals with ethical values having an adequate blend of industry competencies and fostering societal transformation; by catering advanced, interdisciplinary, practical based learning on niche legal areas at postgraduate and doctoral level.

The centre aims to create a pool of legal experts, who will be able to tackle new-age challenges and opportunities effectively. LLM in Data Privacy and Cyber Law

LLM in Data Privacy and Cyber Law is a specialized master's degree programme that focuses on the legal aspects of data privacy and cybersecurity. It provides a comprehensive understanding of the laws, regulations, and best practices surrounding the protection and regulation of personal data, along with competency in dealing with cyber-attacks and information security.

The programme details international data protection law, enabling exposure to European GDPR, California’s CCPA, Singapore’s PDPA etc. The programme covers topics such as data protection laws, cybercrime, internet law, and data governance. Every participant gets to specialize in a niche subject-area.

 

LLM in Information Technology Law

LLM in Information Technology Law is a specialized master's degree programme that focuses on the legal issues related to technology and innovation. It provides students with a comprehensive understanding of the laws, regulations, and best practices surrounding the development, use, and regulation of technology. The programme covers topics such as Tech Contracts, Telecom, FinTech, Blockchain, Artificial Intelligence and Robotics etc. Every participant gets to specialize in a niche subject-area. The LLM in Information Technology Law helps develop the skills and knowledge necessary to navigate the complex legal landscape of the tech industry and to effectively advise clients on technology-related legal issues.

LLM in International Investment and Commercial Arbitration

MLS is again offering India’s first master’s degree in international investment and commercial arbitration. The field of arbitration has gained significant prominence in the legal arena both domestically and globally. With the increase in cross-border transactions, disputes have become more complex and the demand for the skilled arbitration professionals has soared. Eligibility Criteria & Admission Process

Eligibility Criteria:

LLB or equivalent degree in law examination with a minimum of 50% marks. Students will be selected based on personal interview conducted by a panel comprised of faculty/experts.

Candidates pursuing final year undergraduate course in the academic year 2022-2023 will also be eligible for submitting applications for Postgraduate Programmes. 

Admission Process: 

Admissions to the LLM Programme will be granted through submission of an application, followed by a personal interview.
