Manipal Academy of Higher Education bags ASSOCHAM award for 'Best University Promoting Research'

Manipal Academy of Higher Education, Manipal takes pride in its research excellence. That fact was acknowledged by Higher Education Review few months ago. And, more recently it earned the distinction of being the “Best University Promoting Research” for its contribution in research & innovations at the 9th ASSOCHAM Higher Education Summit in New Delhi on February 17, 2016. Mr. Sandeep Shenoy, Deputy Director, Quality & Compliance received the award on behalf of the University from the chief guest, Prof (Dr) Ram Shankar Katheria, Minister of State for HRD. Mr D S Rawat, Secretary General ASSOCHAM was also present.
ASSOCHAM in association with AIU organized the Summit & was followed by the National Excellence Awards. ASSOCHAM instituted these awards to felicitate and honor institutions, universities, colleges, schools & service providers who have contributed significantly in improving quality education, delivery mechanism with emphasis on world-class research & innovations.
Manipal Academy of Higher Education has been making giant strides in research. With dedicated hubs for research in Life Sciences, Stem Cells, Atomic Biophysics, Clinical Embryology, Genetics, Drug Discovery and Virology; the quality of medical research in the University is comparable to world standards. Avionics and Biomedical Devices are two other identified engineering research fields in Manipal. Dr H. Vinod Bhat, Vice Chancellor, Manipal Academy of Higher Education Manipal said that these accolades show our commitment towards research. “We have a very strategic focus on research and hope to reach a level of international excellence in due course of time,” he said.
