Manipal Academy of Higher Education to host meet on Indo-German Lindau Alumni

Future researchers will have a unique opportunity of interacting with eminent researchers and scientists at the Indo-German Convention of Lindau Alumni to be held here at Manipal Academy of Higher Education from August 21 to 23, 2015. “IGCLA-2015” as the convention is labeled, will bring together researchers and scientists who have attended the prestigious Lindau Nobel Laureate Meetings over the past 15 years.
The Lindau Nobel Laureate Meetings are held annually at Lindau where dozens of Nobel Prize winners meet the next generation of selected scientists including undergraduates, PhD students and post-doctoral researchers from all over the world for a scientific exchange of ideas, views and opinions. Being selected to attend the Lindau Meet is significant and those attending the meets are called Lindau Alumni.
Being organized for the first time, IGCLA-2015 was conceived by Dr Partha P Dabke, an MBBS intern at KMC, Manipal who is a Lindau alumnus. He is also the chairperson of the organizing committee which has about 45 students drawn from the institutions of Manipal Academy of Higher Education.
The meet in Manipal from August 21 to 23 will bring on one platform about 300 delegates from all over the country to interact with the Lindau Alumni from Germany and India. It is an opportunity for students from diverse scientific background to learn and foster research.
There will be 12 Lindau Alumni speakers. Other speakers will be from UK, Germany and India. Manipal Academy of Higher Education Vice Chancellor, Dr H Vinod Bhat will inaugurate the three-day meet. The keynote speaker will be Prof. Dr. Anibh Das, an alumnus of Lindau Nobel Laureate Meetings. He is currently the head of Paediatric Metabolic Medicine at Hannover Medical School, Germany.
