Manipal Museum of Anatomy and Pathology (MAP)
,

MAHE provides open access to the Manipal Museum of Anatomy and Pathology (MAP), one of the largest in Asia, housing more than 3000 human anatomy specimens. It is visited by thousands of school and college students from far and wide, and is a wonderful learning aid for them. The museum which opened its doors to the public in 1954, was revamped in 2012. The sprawling Anatomy section displays specimens of normal human body parts and organs in a manner that makes them easy to understand. Each organ system of the human body can be explored as a separate entity. The Pathology Museum, which displays diseased body parts and organs, has a popular section on life-style related diseases, and their impact on the human body.

Museum of Culinary Arts

The Museum of Culinary Arts celebrates the glory of India’s cooking heritage and cultural traditions. It was established by the Welcomgroup Graduate School of Hotel Management in 2018 and was featured in the Limca Book of Records last year as India’s First Living Culinary Arts Museum. Michelin star Chef Vikas Khanna, an alumnus of WGSHA, is the brain behind the novel initiative. It was set up to preserve India’s traditional utensils and showcase them for millennials so that the chefs in this day and age can also learn about the art of cooking in the bygone era. The museum boasts of over 2,000 artistic tools from diverse cultures and regions such as Kodagu, Mysuru, Hampi, Kashmir, Chettinad, Rajasthan, Kolkata, Goa, and the northeastern states. The museum is open to public/students and faculty with prior appointment. It is also operating as a ‘Travelling Museum’ and its valuable collections are being lent for exhibitions held both within and outside India to showcase the richness of Indian culinary tradition.
