Urban Walkability & Public Health: A Global Initiative

Master of Public Health Programme, Department of Health Policy, Prasanna School of Public Health, MAHE, Manipal had organised a ‘Session on Urban Walkability & Public Health Issues Across the Globe’ on the campus premises of MAHE, Manipal on 06 February 2020. Mr. Richard Lambert (Founder & Coordinator of Natural Walking Cities Forum, England) was invited as the key speaker at the session. As a member of the Cities Forum (www.citiesforum.org) and Coordinator of the Liveable Cities Programme, he works together with various companies, governments and organisations to promote the importance of walking (its benefits for physical and mental health) as directly related to social connections and relationships thereby creating more sustainable urban development. Dr. P Arathi Rao (Coordinator, MPH Program, Department of Health Policy, PSPH), Dr. Kumar Sumit (faculty, MPH Program, Department of Health Policy, PSPH), students, staff of PSPH, MAHE, Manipal participated in the session.
