Tanima Nigam

Lecturer at Department of Philosophy, Manipal

Tanima Nigam is a Lecturer at the DoP, MAHE as she administers postgraduate courses on Indian and western - metaphysics, ethics, and aesthetics, along with skill-based courses - critical thinking and academic writing. She is also Deputy-in-charge (Academics) and Coordinator of the Academic Committee as well as Mentoring and Counselling Cell. She attained her BA (Hons) Philosophy at Lady Shri Ram College for Women, University of Delhi (DU), while also serving as a teaching volunteer under National Service Scheme (NSS). After completing her Master’s in Philosophy at Manipal Centre for Humanities (MCH), MAHE, she joined Manipal Universal Press (MUP) as an Editorial Coordinator, where she oversaw content creation and editing activities, worked hands-on with authors and managed a team of freelance copyeditors. Alongside her editor’s responsibilities, she was involved as a Guest Faculty and entrusted with the design and delivery of European Literature in Indian Translation (ELIT) – a course funded by EU at Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence – Manipal Centre for European Studies (MCES), MAHE. Her areas of interest and specialisation range across Indian Philosophy (Nyaya, Vedanta, and Buddhism), Hermeneutics, Phenomenology, Gender Studies, Social Anthropology, Translation and Health Humanities. Apart from this, she also nurtures a profound interest in Fine Arts and Calligraphy.

Qualification: Master's in Philosophy from Manipal Centre for Humanities, Manipal BA (Hons) in Lady Shri Ram (LSR) College for Women, New Delhi.
