NXP Semiconductors (formerly a division of Philips) which has it’s head quarters at Eindhoven, The Netherlands setup lab at Manipal Centre for Information Science (MCIS), Manipal to provide state of the art microcontroller kits & peripherals with development environment to develop innovative solutions for the use of students and faculty of Manipal Academy of Higher Education. Manipal Academy of Higher Education is one of the very few selected educational institutions in the country to have this facility setup by NXP Semiconductors, Bangalore. This platform can provide innovative solutions in the area of automotive, healthcare, wireless, lighting, industrial, mobile, consumer and computing applications.


Dr.H.Vinod Bhat, Pro-Vice Chancellor, Manipal Academy of Higher Education inaugurated the lab and emphasized on students developing innovative solutions & becoming entrepreneurs. Dr.Sankara Narayan, Vice President & NXP India Country Manager, addressed the need to develop cost effective products & services to the societal needs. Dr.N.S.Murty, Director, New Business Initiative & Academic Relations urged students & faculty to be proactive to best make use of this platform in academic support & assured continued support in this direction.
