One-day Symposium on Recent Trends in Biophysics on February 25, 2013

A symposium on the recent trends in Biophysics - the application of Physics to biological problems - was held at the Lecture Hall 3B, Interact Building, Manipal Academy of Higher Education on February 25th, 2014.
The event, organised by the Department of Atomic & Molecular Physics, was themed around the use of fundamental laws, instrumentation and computational models of Physics to understand living things. The symposium covered multiple branches of Biophysics like Membrane & Structure Biology, Protein Folding & Dynamics, and others.
The invited speakers for the event were:
- Prof. Tej P Singh (All India Institute of Medical Sciences)
- Prof. Manju Bansal (Indian Institute of Science)
- Prof. D Velmurugan (University of Madras)
- Prof. S Krishnaswamy (Madurai Kamaraj University)
- Dr B Syed Ibrahim (Pondicherry University).
Dr Santhosh Chindangil, Dr A Abdul Ajees and Dr Suresh D Kulkarni were a few among the local organising committee.
