Vivek Ghate, a senior research fellow at the department of pharmaceutics was at the 10th Novartis Biotechnology Leadership Camp

Mr. Vivek Ghate, a Senior Research Fellow at the Department of Pharmaceutics was selected as one of the 50 participants among ~1,700 students of leading Universities all over the country to be a part of the 10th Novartis Biotechnology Leadership Camp (BioCamp) which was held at Novartis, Hyderabad during 23 to 26 September 2018.
BioCamp is a great opportunity provided by Novartis, India to students and researchers to interact with leading experts in the pharmaceutical/biotech fields, learn about breakthrough medicines to address patients’ unmet medical needs, understand trends and challenges in the pharmaceutical sector, receive first-hand experience about starting and running a biotech company, explore career opportunities in the pharmaceutical and biotech industries and network with talented students from other universities.
Mr Ghate is pursuing his PhD in the department of pharmaceutics, MCOPS under the guidance of Dr. Shaila Lewis, associate professor (senior scale) and Dr. B.S. Jayashree, professor, department of pharmaceutical chemistry. Recently, he was awarded a travel grant from the Society for the Study of Xenobiotics (SSX), India for attending the 3rd Conference of the Society for the Study of Xenobiotics (SSX), India held at Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru during 10 - 13 October, 2018.
Mr. Vivek also had an opportunity to be mentored by Dr. Sandhya Mandlekar, Head, PCO (Pharmaceutical Candidate Optimization) at Biocon Bristol-Myers Squibb Research Center, Bangalore, India during the conference.
