Department of Applied Statistics and Data Science (DASDS), Prasanna School of Public Health (PSPH), Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE), Manipal as part of the Industry-Academia Collaboration organised the Three Days Online Workshop on ‘Exploring Statistical and Machine Learning Classification Models’ (Insights Through Data Analysis) Virtually through Microsoft Teams from February 19 to 21, 2025.
The main objective of the workshop was to foster industry-academia collaboration, with Prof. Asha Kamath representing academia and Mr. Dayananda bringing industry perspectives. Their combined expertise helped to bridge the gap between theoretical learning and practical applications. In addition, Mr. Dayananda shed light on industry expectations, the typical workflow in data science projects, the role of data scientists in the industry, and career opportunities in the field. A total of 71 participants registered for the workshop, including 48 students and faculty from MAHE, as well as 23 participants from other institutions and industry.
