World Tourism Day 2021 @WGSHA, Manipal

Start Date: September 27, 2021

End Date: September 27, 2021

On World Tourism Day, we recognize the power and potential of tourism to advance prosperity and drive inclusive, sustainable development. The tourism sector touches almost every part of our economies and societies, enabling historically marginalized people and those at risk of being left behind to benefit from development that is local and direct.

WGSHA invites you to join in celebrating World Tourism Day 2021 on Monday, 27 September 2021. The theme for 2021 is “Tourism for Inclusive Growth”. The COVID-19 pandemic has had a massive social and economic impact with the tourism and allied sectors being hit particularly hard. As the restart of tourism will help kick-start recovery and growth, it is essential that the benefits this will bring are enjoyed widely and fairly by all stakeholders—from the biggest airline to the smallest family business. This commemorative event will celebrate tourism’s unique ability to ensure that nobody is left behind as the world begins to open up again and look to the future.

The invited speakers—Mr.  P K Mohankumar, Founder & CEO, Turnstone Hospitality LLP, Dr. Nanda Kishor, Department of Geopolitics and International Relations, MAHE, and Mr. Dhananjay Saliankar, Head of Sales and Marketing, Fortune Hotels and WelcomHeritage Hotels will take the attendees beyond tourism statistics and show that behind every number, there is a person.
