Evaluation of nephroprotective effect of Vortioxetine in Gentamicin-induced rentoxicity in Wistar rats
Principal investigator: Megana
Co-investigator: Dr. Vinutha Bhat, Dr. Amrita Parida, Dr. Sushma Prabhath
Funding agencies: PG grant, MAHE, Manipal
Brief overview: Vortioxetine, a newer selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI), is shown to have antioxidant and immunomodulatory effects. However, there is no published literature demonstrating the effect of vortioxetine in animal models of aminoglycosides induced reno-toxicity. The current study aims to investigate the protective effect of vortioxetine in gentamicin induced nephrotoxicity in Wistar rats.
