KMC Manipal established a research cell in the year 2015 is dedicated in creating awareness among students, staff and faculty towards research integrity and high-quality research with the aim to increase publication output and grant funding. The research cell also provides tools for encouraging national and international collaborations, expanding industrial and corporate partnership and other aspects of business development, entrepreneurship and intellectual property.

The research cell mainly consists of teams of KMC Manipal faculty from multiple departments coming together to organize numerous workshops, lecture series and training programs in order to improve the research output of the organization.
