    Professor & HOD (Neonatology)

    This Dept looks after sick and critically ill neonates. In charge of the 47-bedded state-of-the-art Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), High Risk Follow- Up OPD and post-natal babies. Am responsible for training nurses, therapists, PG medical students and am in the process of getting the Dept recognized for the DM (post-doctoral) course.

Neonatal intensive care, Neonatal Developmentally Supportive Care of preterms, Neonatal Resuscitation training

Area of Research

Have served for over 35 years in the Armed Forces Medical Services (Indian Navy) in their major teaching hospitals and was responsible for setting up NICUs in a number of Defence Hospitals including in remote locations like Port Blair. Was in charge of the Tertiary Level NICUs at the Command Hospitals at Mumbai, Pune and Delhi and have trained a large number of post graduate students and nurses. Retd in Aug 22 in the 3-star rank.
