Overview - Electric Vehicle Technology

M.Tech. in Electric Vehicle Technology is designed to meet the expert manpower requirements in the field of electric vehicles (EVs), drives and control, EV communications, chargers and battery management systems (BMS), policies, regulations and commercialization for the present and future prospects of the EV industry and research.

 

Program Focus

 

The course is industry-oriented to meet the contemporary requirements of the society. For EV ecosystem to flourish, the R&D on EV powertrains, batteries, charging stations and associated power converters are essential. EVs need the competency in multidisciplinary areas of power engineering, instrumentation, embedded systems, communications, data science and AI. The students will undergo extensive hands-on training through laboratory assisted theory courses. Innovative concept of practice school allows the students to carry out their project work/internship in EV industries/start-ups.

· EV design, manufacturing, consulting companies/start-ups and power industries.

· Policy making and R&D in public sector.

Research Highlights

 

Faculty of the department are doing the research in different areas of Electric Vehicle. The major ongoing researches are micro-grids, energy storage devices, use of AI in battery performance analysis, charging stations, modelling and analysis, power converters for EV, etc.
