Ganesh Nayak from the Department of Instrumentation & Control Engineering has been awarded the prestigious Ecology Project International (EPI) Alumni Leadership Award for his outstanding work with the Centre for Outdoor Studies (COS). As part of this recognition, he has received a grant of $800, which will support an ecological survey of the MIT Manipal campus, documenting birds, reptiles, amphibians, and butterflies.

The survey findings will be shared through pamphlets, workshops, and hand-painted billboards to raise awareness about local biodiversity. Tejas Rao from the Department of ICT, MIT, will lead the survey, while Sanika Deshmukh from MSLS will oversee design and illustration. EPI, a US-based nonprofit organization, focuses on youth development, leadership, and habitat conservation.
