Manipal International Film Festival

Manipal International Film Festival (MIFF) 2014 will bring to its viewers various regional cinemas of India that has never ceased to blow its audiences’ minds away – Bengali, Marathi, Malayalam, Tulu, Kannada and many more. It will also include few selected Bollywood movies and movies of International fame in the same vertical as well. The festival will be held for three days from April 18 to 20, 2014.


Each year, the festival has evolved itself and tried to give its audience, a visual extravaganza of films ranging from documentary, contemporary, regional, parallel to contemporary and many more. It provides a platform for all film passionate minds – students, budding enthusiasts, filmmakers, producers, directors, its humongous audience, actors and actresses…just one and all.


Indian Cinema has a distinctiveness that is inimitable and unrivalled throughout the world. It started its journey from the black and white silent films and has moved to 3D yet it continues to retain its charisma to entertain. Though the West introduced the concept of moving images, Indian Cinema has grown into one of the largest film industry. To top it, India is the leading manufacturer of entertainment feature films in the world.

Manu Chakravarthy – Jury for International Film Festival of India (IFFI), Well-known Film Critic – Awarded with the Swarna Kamal by the former President of India at the 58th National Film Awards for contribution to film criticism; His book on culture and politics, Madhyama Marga won the prestigious VM Inamdar Award in 2010
4. Pawan Kumar – Film Critic and Screen Writer, Director of crowd-funded movie – Lucia (Kannada) – Best Film Audience Choice Award at the London Indian Film Festival
