Onam Celebrations at MIC
A Grand Festivity of Culture and Joy

On 11th September 2024, the spirit of Onam brought students and faculty together for a vibrant celebration at the Manipal Institute of Communication (MIC). The campus was alive with energy, kicking off with the Chenda melam, setting the perfect festive mood. The highlight of the event was the grand entrance of Mahabali, symbolising the return of the beloved King.
Ada payasam, the traditional delicacy of Kerala, added a sweet touch to the day. Games like the classic lemon-on-spoon race, Uriyadi and the exciting MIC Sundari contest saw enthusiastic participation from students, making the atmosphere lighthearted and fun.
As the evening progressed, the tug-of-war event added a competitive edge to the celebration, bringing teams of students and faculty together for a lively showdown. The event culminated in a much-anticipated DJ night, where students danced their hearts out, ending the day on a high note.
The Onam festivities were a perfect blend of tradition, fun, and unity, leaving everyone with beautiful memories of a day well spent. The event was organised by the Cultural Committee, coordinated by the Cultural Coordinator, Mr. Manikandan and presided by Director, Dr. Padma Rani.
