The M.Tech in Defence Technology at Manipal Institute of Technology (MIT), MAHE, is a two‑year full‑time postgraduate program that prepares you for advanced roles in defense system design and development.

You gain structured exposure to aerospace systems, warfare platforms, radar and communication systems, and emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence and autonomous systems. Developed with defense‑sector inputs, the program combines engineering fundamentals with applied learning to support careers in strategic research and defense technology development.

Collaboration with Defence Agencies: The curriculum is developed with inputs from organisations such as DRDO, Armed Forces units, and defence industries.

Hands‑On Defence Projects: You work on live projects, internships, and capstone work linked to defence labs and industries.

Exposure to Emerging Technologies: Training includes AI‑enabled systems, autonomous platforms, robotics, and advanced communication technologies used in modern warfare.

Strategic National Relevance: The program aligns with initiatives such as Atmanirbhar Bharat and Make in India in defence manufacturing and research.

Lab Work

Train through specialised systems and warfare simulation laboratories, aerospace systems labs, and defence‑oriented experimental setups, including select laboratory sessions conducted at premier DRDO facilities.

Undertake industry‑sponsored or defence‑lab‑linked projects focused on areas such as UAV development, control systems, system integration, and defence platform design.
