M. Tech Industrial Automation and Robotics - Overview
Under the onset of changing consumer needs and advancing technology, industrial demands have been getting competitive, requiring a work force with multidisciplinary research based knowledge coupled with innovative mindset, to deal with the challenges. An ideal Mechatronics Post-Graduate would be expected to have a research acumen and possess credible skillset which are in current demand.
The state of the art infrastructure in various laboratories such as Robotics, Hydraulics and Pneumatics, PLCs, Sensors and Actuators, microcontroller, and IIOT facilitates in effective learning. This career-focused course is much sought after by students for its excellent future prospects.
Program Outcomes
- PO 1: An ability to independently carry out research /investigation and development work to solve practical problems
- PO 2: An ability to write and present a substantial technical report/document
- PO 3:Students should be able to demonstrate a degree of mastery over the area as per the specialization of the program. The mastery should be at a level higher than the requirements in the appropriate bachelor program.
- PO 4:Able to apply the knowledge of electronic circuits, mechanical systems, control engineering, drives, sensors, computer vision, artificial intelligence, computational techniques, engineering practice to analyse and design the solutions for automation, robotic and other applications.
- PO 5:Able to model, analyse, design, validate, develop the automation, robotic and other applications using modern tools.

- PEO 1: Apply theoretical knowledge of automation and robotics to solve complex problems of society and industry, considering the ethical, legal, and environmental issues.
- PEO 2: Model, analyze, design, and develop mechatronic systems with a multi-disciplinary approach using hardware, software and simulation tools.
- PEO 3: Excel professionally through teamwork, leadership and innovative research in the field of industrial automation.
