RoboManipal Secures First Place at National Hackathon Byte Battles 2.0 Hosted by Ather Energy

Team RoboManipal from Manipal Institute of Technology (MIT), Manipal, has added yet another feather to its cap by clinching first place at Byte Battles 2.0 — a prestigious national-level firmware hackathon organized by Ather Energy. Held from April 5–6, 2025, at Ather’s headquarters in Bengaluru, the event tested the best minds in embedded systems across a grueling 30-hour challenge.
Team—comprising Srikar Bharadwaj R (Mechatronics), Aanyaa Agarwwal (CCE), Vikram Prabhu (ECE), Prahadeesh TN and Arnav Sharma (ECE – VLSI Design)— mentored by Dr. Ishwar Bhiradi from Dept. of Mechatronics, competing against 179 teams from across the country.
RoboManipal distinguished itself through its innovative solutions to enhance safety in electric two-wheelers. In Phase 1, the team implemented real-time safety features and advancing to Phase 2, the team skillfully tackled a semi-autonomous maze challenge simulating real-world scenarios, showcasing excellence in control systems and embedded software, rewarded with a ₹1,00,000 cash prize and national recognition.
