The Solar Electric Vehicle Championship-2024 (SEVC) marked a significant collaboration between The Manipal Institute of Technology (MIT) and the Coimbatore Society of Racing Minds (CSRM). Held from March 27th to 31st, 2024, this pioneering event was more than just a competition; it served as a platform to champion sustainability and environmental awarene

Day One of the event featured static events, including sales and design presentations, from participating teams. The official inauguration on Day Two saw notable personalities like Lt. Gen. (Dr.) M.D. Venkatesh, Vice-Chancellor of Manipal Academy of Higher Education, and Dr. RAS. Mathew, President of CSRM, and Cdr. (Dr.) Anil Rana, Director of Manipal Institute of Technology, which emphasized the significance of green initiatives.

The highlight of SEVC-2024 was the EV Awareness Rally on the final day, aimed at promoting sustainable transportation solutions. Starting from the MIT cricket ground (spanning 14 kilometers), winding through Karavali Junction, Udupi; it culminated at MIT Manipal. The grand valedictory ceremony on March 31st, 2024, featured Sri Tonse Sachin Pai, Trustee of Dr. T.M.A. Pai Foundation, as the esteemed Chief Guest. He emphasized India's role in harnessing solar energy and commended MIT Manipal for its visionary approach. Although the host team, MIT, was unable to participate in the events, MIT students enthusiastically cheered for all the teams, viewing it as an opportunity for experiential learning.

Team STES Hyperion from Sinhgad Technical Education Society emerged as the Overall Winner, with Team Astra and Team Hindusthani Lahurians securing the 1st and 2nd Runner-Up positions respectively. Team Gandiva Racing won the E-kart event, while Team STES Hyperion was awarded the Running Trophy in honor of Dr. TMA Pai's 125th Birth Anniversary. Overall, SEVC-2024 was a testament to innovation, sustainability, and excellence in the field of solar electric vehicles.
