Team Manipal Racing

General description about the club: TEAM MANIPAL RACING is one of the major student project teams involved with the Design, Manufacture and Racing of the All-Terrain Vehicle at BAJA SAE INDIA and BAJA STUDENT INDIA events being conducted yearly.

The Mantra for TMR:” Innovate. Initiate. Incarnate.” is put into practice by creating passion for innovation, welcome out-of-the-box ideas and fortify team-work as a character.

Primary objectives and purposes are:

• Conceptualization, Design and Manufacturing of an All-Terrain car within stipulated time to compete in national events every year.
• The prime aspects for design of the car pertain to the Drive-train, Roll Cage, Suspension, Brakes and Kill Switch mechanisms, onboard diagnostics to monitor the car performance during a race.
• Students from diverse domains of engineering – Mechanical Engineering, Automobile Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering participate in the entire car design, and building exercise. Being a part of TMR inculcates vital professional skills and value addition which make the students industry-ready.
• To compete against nation-wide teams in
• Dynamic events like Acceleration, Hill Climb, Suspension and Traction, Maneuverability and Endurance.
• Static event like Costing, Design, Safety and Marketability/Sales Presentation.

Activities of the club:

• Competed at BAJA STUDENT INDIA 2016, NOIDA, UTTAR PRADESH in Jan 2016.
• Competed at BAJA SAE INDIA 2016, INDORE, MADHYA PRADESH in Feb 2016.

Laurels/prizes won by the club/club members :

• TMR won the 2^nd Prize in Sales presentation at BAJA STUDENT INDIA 2016.
• TMR was among top 20 teams at BAJA STUDENT INDIA 2016 and has received a seeded entry into the next year event.
