Prof.Dr. MS Valiathan, National Research Professor, who was the guest of honor highlighted the importance of innovations in alleviating the economic burden associated with diagnosis and management of diseases.
Dr. Bipin Batra, Executive Director of the National Board of Examination, Government of India who was also the guest of honour for the inaugural function, appraised on the GOI’s efforts on framing a National Council for Allied Health Sciences and also emphasized the role of accreditation in ensuring quality and safety.
The Chief Guest of the day Dr. H Vinod Bhat, Vice Chancellor, Manipal Academy of Higher Education.
Dr. B Rajasekhar, Dean MCHPand organising chairperson gave a brief outline of the developmental journey of the department during the welcome address.
Dr. Saleena Ummer V., Head of the department, MLT and Organising Secretary, NACCLER-2017 proposed the vote of thanks.
The department of Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT), Congenital Heart disease (MCHP), Manipal Academy of Higher Education hosted the first national conference on clinical laboratory education and research on 27th and 28th February 2017 at the TMA Pai Hall, Manipal. The conference was inaugurated by Dr. H. Vinod Bhat, Vice Chancellor, Manipal Academy of Higher Education. He lauded the efforts of the department for having undertaken a number of innovative initiatives in education and research.
The two day deliberations included five preconference workshops, plenary sessions, symposia and panel discussions that encompassed various aspects of laboratory medicine conducted by eminent scientists, physicians, academicians and industry personnel.
