Department of Medical Laboratory Technology, MCHP, MAHE, Manipal conducted a lecture on The Heartbeat of Good Health: Food, Stress and Building a Resilient Cardio system by Ms. Suvarna Hebbar. Madam gave an informative talk on “The Heartbeat of Good Health: Food, Stress and Building a Resilient Cardio system.”

The talk was attended by a large audience of students and faculty. Ms Hebbar is a well-known Clinical Dietitian (CCD) with over 10 years of experience in the field of nutrition and dietetics. She is currently the In-Charge Dietitian at Kasturba Hospital in Manipal, Karnataka, India.

She highlighted the value of eating a nutritious diet, managing stress, and getting enough exercise to keep the cardiovascular system healthy. She said eating a diet rich in fruits, vegetables, and whole grains while low in saturated fat, trans fat, and cholesterol can help lower the risk of heart disease. She additionally highlighted the necessity of avoiding processed foods, sugary drinks, and excessive salt consumption. She stressed how regular exercise helps strengthen the heart, enhance circulation, and lower the risk of heart disease. The audience responded positively to the discussion. Ms Hebbar's talk served as a timely reminder of the necessity of nurturing our hearts.
