Overview

Objectives-

  1. Advanced training in diagnostic and therapeutic Upper and Lower GI endoscopy
  2. Advanced training in ERCP, EUS and Third Space Endoscopy

 

Program Relevance- During DM gastroenterology training limited exposure to advanced endoscopic skill like therapeutic intervention in upper and lower GI endoscopy and also ERCP, EUS and third space endoscopy. Through this program post DM candidate will be trained in advanced GI endoscopic intervention like third space endoscopy (EMR, ESD, POEM), therapeutic ERCP and EUS.

 

Eligibility criteria- DM or DNB in gastroenterology

Admission Process- Apply online

                                  Admission based on availability, seniority and merit

 

Syllabus

First Semester (6months)

  • Diagnostic and Therapeutic Upper and Lower GI endoscopy- NBI, Polypectomy, hemo-cliping, dilatation, Glue injection, APC
  • Diagnostic EUS
  • Basics of ERCP canulation- biliary and pancreatic, pre-cut papillotomy

 

Second Semester (6months)

  • Advanced Endoscopic intervention- EMR, ESD, POEM
  • Advanced ERCP intervention- Pancreatic sphincterotomy, stenting, Biliary stenting, lithotripsy, Metal Stenting
  • EUS guided interventions like- FNA, FNB, Cysto- gastrostomy

 

External Posting – Optional- MGH(Massachusetts General Hospital) – visit for 2-4 weeks
