Annual day and lamp lighting 2021

Annual Day and Lamp Lighting of Manipal School of Nursing (MSON, MCON), Manipal Academy of Higher Education was held on Friday, 5th March 2021.

Mrs Shamantha H S Principal, Ashrith School of Nursing, Kota, the chief guest for the day’s programme congratulated students who lit the lamp. She said that the students have chosen one of the best institutions for nursing which has all the facilities. She addressed the importance of lighting the lamp. She also said, “Nursing is the work of heart and care is the essence of nursing”. She highlighted that education is not just an acquisition of knowledge but it builds character. Be sincere to your profession and practice the values.

Dr Anice George Dean, Manipal College of Nursing MAHE, Manipal in her presidential address advised the students that “Nursing is not a mechanical profession; learn the basics of care from clinical with affection. A lot of our learning will take place by observation and by giving care for the patient. She encouraged the students to utilize the clinical resources which are available in the hospital. She also emphasized on patient safety, personal safety and professional behaviour. 

Meritorious students of various batches were awarded. Ms Shilpa Nagappa Naik was awarded Topper in DNM 2017 – 2020 and Ms Sushmitha R was awarded the best outgoing student.

Mrs Bharathi R Nayak, Assistant Professor welcomed the gathering and introduced the Chief Guest. Dr Leena Sequira, Principal, MSON, presented the Annual report of the school. Mrs Shubhalakshmi proposed the vote of thanks. Ms Shobha, Assistant Lecturer compered the formal program.

The formal function was followed by an entertainment program by the students and faculty of the school.
