Report of “Old age home visit”

The Health and Social Welfare Committee and the Health Education Committee of Students Nurse’s Association 2023-2024 in association with the Gerontological Nurse’s Association of India, Manipal College of Nursing Manipal, MAHE, Manipal organized an “Old age home visit” at Shree Krishna Vrudhashrama at Moodubettu, Kodavoor, Udupi on 8th October 2023, from 10.30 am to 12.30 pm. Ms. Shreya Shetty, IV Year BSc Nursing student welcomed the gathering and the program was continued by seeking blessings from the almighty with a prayer song by Ms. Vina Tina D Souza and Ms. Lisa Aslin Mascarenhas, IV year BSc Nursing students and the members of Health Education Committee. Group song and group dance performed by the members of the Health and Social Welfare Committee. The health talk was delivered by Mr Pradeep Panduranga Nayak, II year PBBSc Nursing student, Ms Shreya Shetty and Ms. Vina Tina D Souza IV year BSc Nursing students. Blood pressure and Random blood sugar assessment was done followed by games organized for the participants. Prize distribution to the winners of different games was done. Refreshments and gifts were distributed and the program was concluded with words of gratitude expressed by Ms. Jhanavi Mathur, IV year BSc Nursing student, a member of the Health Education Committee. A total of 20 participants benefitted from the program. Twenty students and 8 faculty members were involved in the program. The program was well appreciated by the participants and Ms Nagaratna Patil, incharge of the Shree Krishna Vrudhashram. She also thanked the Manipal College of Nursing Manipal, MAHE, Manipal for organizing a very beneficial program for the inmates of the ashram. The session contributes to SDG: Goal 3- Good health and wellbeing.
