Awareness program on communicable diseases, it’s prevention & control through Radio FM
Various infections have been documented in children and adults all over India. Infants and preschool-aged children are very susceptible to contagious diseases either through contaminated hands, food, or polluted environment; awareness about these can play a significant role in helping to reduce or prevent the incidence of illness among children and adults in our community. Encouraging good hand hygiene, following safe food habits, and adhering to environmental sanitation contribute to a safe and healthy environment for children and adults.
As part of Bharath ka Amruth Mahotsav activity, the Health Education Committee of the Student Nurses Association (SNA)-2021-2022 of Manipal College of Nursing, MAHE, Manipal, organized an awareness program on infectious disease, its prevention, and control to the community population. This radio talk was arranged and recorded on 3rd March 2022, at MIC, MAHE, Manipal. This program was coordinated by health education committee chairperson Ms Levia Marina Lobo, 4th year BSc(N), Ms Smitha Saldhanha, 2nd year MSc(N), Mr Praveen Lancy Serrao, 3rd year BSc (N), and Mr Nithin Nayak, 2nd year PBBSc (N) along with the committee advisors, Dr Yashoda Sathish, Assistant Professor, Department of Child Health Nursing and Mrs Prathibha Prakash.
