REPORT ON A VISIT BY AN INTERNATIONAL DELEGATES, DEAKIN UNIVERSITY, AUSTRALIA.

Faculty from Deakin Nursing School visited Manipal College of Nursing, MAHE Manipal on the 18th and 19th of September 2023. The visit focused on exploring collaboration opportunities between the Deakin School of Nursing and the Manipal College of Nursing. Prof. Nikki Phillips and Prof. Stephane Bouchoucha interacted with the director, the Office of International Affairs & Collaborations and the faculty of the College of Nursing. They also had interaction with Dr Christopher Sudhakar, Director Quality, MAHE, and discussed opportunities for collaborative activities. During the visit to Manipal College of Nursing, Dr Judith A. Noronha, Dean, gave them an overview of the University and Nursing college in particular. Prof. Nikki Phillips presented about their university and school. Dr. Elsa Sanatombi Devi, Head of Pillar 3, various department heads, and professors also joined the meeting and discussed opportunities for research collaboration, a bridge program for recruitment, student exchange, and exploring a way forward toward the Cotutelle Ph.D program. A meeting was held with the PhD scholar on AI and proposed mentoring and being a member of the Doctoral Advisory Committee for prospective PhD enrollments. Post discussions, the guest visited cultural sites during the Ganesh Chathurthi events at Venugopal Temple Manipal and futuristic sites at Malpe. They also visited the NIH hostel to see the facilities for students for the forthcoming event. They visited various facilities at MAHE, including Destination Manipal, KH Manipal, MAP, Library, simulation lab, Homebelaku, and ASARE. It was a great meeting with the faculty to have plans for collaborations in education, student exchange, and research. As part of the Partnership for the Goals ( SDG- 17), we believe in mutual benefit from this collaboration initiative. Dr Shashidhara YN, Professor and Head, Department of Community Health Nursing, International Students coordinator, and Office of International MAHE coordinated this visit.
