Awareness Program on pollution and its prevention

National Pollution Control Day is observed on 2nd December every year to bring to attention the dangers of polluted water land and air. Nowadays pollution prevention is a major global concern because everyone on the earth is entitled to clean air to breathe, water to drink and to enjoy public lands (India Today, 2021)

Second Year BSc Nursing students (Batch-III) along with the faculty, Department of Community Health Nursing, MCON, MAHE organized an awareness program on Pollution prevention on 29th December 2021 at 11 am in Vishweshwar Nagar, Hirebettu.

A role play on types of pollution, consequences & its prevention was performed by the students which were substituted by narration on different types and prevention with the use of charts and flashcards which was followed by an action song to demonstrate hand hygiene by the  2nd year BSc Nursing students. Dr Shashidhara YN, Professor & HoD, Dept. of Community Health Nursing, MCON, MAHE, Manipal addressed the audience on the significance of protecting the environment. He also appreciated the effort of the students.

General public about 20 people & the PBBSc nursing students participated in the program. The participants expressed that the program was very useful & informative to the community. The programme was coordinated by Mrs Manjula, Asst. Professor, MCON MAHE, Manipal.
