OVERSEAS IMMERSION PROGRAM

Ngee Ann Polytechnic Singapore & Manipal College of Nursing Manipal The Manipal College of Nursing Manipal has signed MOU with Ngee Ann Polytechnic Singapore in the year 2009. As a part of Overseas Immersion Programme (OIP) of Ngee Ann Polytechnic Singapore, thirty one students and three faculty visited Manipal College of Nursing Manipal from 21st September to 09th October 2015.

Sessions were provided as per CIM (20 hours). The students and their faculty were given an opportunity to interact with Manipal Academy of Higher Education officials on 25th September 2015.
Various visits including Virtual tour center, Manipal Academy of Higher Education campus, Anatomy museum, Pathology museum, Skill lab, Smrithi Bhavan and Marena were arranged. The group also visited Srikrishna Balanikethan, Kukkikatte, Udupi and SDM Ayurveda hospital, Udyavar. Students also had interaction with 15 IV year BSc Nursing Students of Manipal College of Nursing Manipal.
Sessions on History of Nursing by Dr. Kasturi R. Adiga, Principal, MSON, Manipal, Religion, caste and communities of India by Ms. Kaveri Ishwar Haritas, Fellow, MCPH and Indian democracy and politics by Dr. Meera Baindur, Asst. Professor, MCPH were arranged. A session on Cultural diversity of India /Folk and classical tradition was taken by Mr. Abhay Shetty, Dept of Humanities and Management. Dr. Nanda Kishore MS, Asst. Professor, Dept of Geopolitics and International relations conducted an interactive session on Gandhi and his vision and Dr. Praveen Kumar, Associate Professor, Dept of Geopolitics and International relations delivered a lecture on Grass root development. Dr. Elsa Sanatombi Devi, Professor & HoD, Medical Surgical Nursing, MCON Manipal has demonstrated Best from the waste. Mehandi application, garland and rangoli making were demonstrated by faculty, staff and students of MCON and MSON Manipal.
