Manipal College of Dental Sciences, Manipal celebrates College Day and Awards ceremony – 2019

 

Manipal College of Dental Sciences, Manipal celebrated its annual college day and awards ceremony on March 9’2019. Dr Keerthilatha M Pai Dean MCODS Manipal welcomed the august gathering. Dr Keerthilatha M Pai presented the annual institution report wherin she highlighted the achievements of the faculty and students, the research activities, International affiliations and, the academic, social and cultural events that were hosted by the institution.

The chief guest of the function was Dr H.S Ballal, Pro-chancellor of Manipal Academy of Higher Education. Dr Ballal in his address to the graduates said that Manipal college of Dental Sciences is the top dental college in the country and that depends a lot on the quality of the faculty and students. To get to the top and retain that position is difficult and that MCODS, Manipal has done exceptionally well to stay at the top for more than 2 decades. He added that MCODS, Manipal is considered as a precious gem in the crown of MAHE.

The guest of honor for the event was Dr Vinod V Thomas, Registrar Evaluation, Manipal Academy of Higher education. Dr Thomas in his speech to the graduates mentioned that MCODS, Manipal was the best among all the colleges in MAHE with a 98% pass percentage

Good teacher award wasconferred on 39 faculty members who had taught and mentored the students of the institution. Dr Kishore Ginjupalli, Associate Professor, Department of Dental Material won the Dr T M A Pai Gold medal for the best research paper for the year 2018. Dr Vasudev Ballal and Dr Rajashwari won the FAIR award for good research publications. Dr Anandeep Shukla and Dr Vidyasaraswathi won the award for the Best Teaching Aids.

Miss B Kiruthika was the best out- going student and the class topper for the year 2018. The class and subject toppers for all the four years of the BDS course were recognized and awarded.

The “PRAISE” award for a post graduate student who had published their research work in reputed scientific journal was awarded to Dr Monica Pal of the Department of Periodontology.

The student council report was presented by Dr Sai Nivedita and the response from the graduates was given by Dr Shane Yi Xuan Quek

The ceremony concluded with a short entertainment put up by the faculty and students of the institution.
