Continuing Professional Development program - "Diagnosis and Ethics - a straddle for oral cancer care"

The department of Oral Pathology and Microbiology, Manipal College of Dental Sciences, Manipal organized a continuing professional development Program “Diagnosis and Ethics- a straddle for oral cancer care” on December 13 2014.

The Chief Guest for the inauguration function was Dr Dilip G Naik, Dean, Manipal College of Dental Sciences, Mangalore, Manipal Academy of Higher Education.  Dr Monica Charlotte Solomon, Head, Department of Oral Pathology, welcomed the faculty and the delegates. Dr Dilip Naik in his address emphasized on the need for efficient diagnosis and ethics in cancer care.

Dr MS Vidyasagar, Professor, Department of Radiotherapy and Oncology, KMC Manipal spoke on “Diagnostic appraisal – a forerunner for cancer treatment” and Dr Ankur Kaur Shergill introduced him. Dr Nirmala N Rao, Dean, Manipal College of Dental Sciences, Manipal spoke on the “Critical pathological assessment of indecisive potential malignant lesions”. She was introduced by Dr Monica Charlotte Solomon.

Dr G Mary Mathew, Professor, Department of Pathology, spoke on the “Ethical platform for oral cancer management” and Dr Sunitha Carnelio introduced her. Dr Vidya M, Senior Oral Pathologist from Mangalore conducted the slide seminar.

 

About 60 post-graduate students and faculty of dental institutions from Mangalore and Manipal participated in this continuing professional development program. The discourse was highly informative and the delegates interacted at length with all the speakers. At the end of the program, Dr Nirmala N Rao, Dean Manipal College of Dental Sciences, Manipal distributed the certificates to the delegates.  Dr Ankur Kaur Shergill Assistant Professor proposed the vote of thanks.
