A webinar session aimed to address the critical issue of safeguarding children from the harmful influences of the tobacco industry with the Theme: Protecting children from tobacco industry interference was conducted.
Dr. Shalini Singh, a Global Tobacco Policy Researcher based in the USA, provided valuable insights into the research methodologies and resources essential for effective tobacco control measures.
Dr. Agramroop Kaur, a Global Youth Health Advocate affiliated with Tobacco-Free Kids in the USA, discussed strategies and initiatives to empower youth in the fight against tobacco use.
The webinar attracted a diverse audience, including healthcare professionals, researchers, and postgraduate students. Participants engaged actively through interactive Q&A sessions, expressing keen interest in practical approaches to combatting tobacco use among children and adolescents.
The webinar concluded on a positive note with a renewed commitment from participants to implement evidence-based strategies and advocate for more robust policies to protect children from the detrimental effects of tobacco. Manipal College of Dental Sciences plans to organize similar educational events to raise awareness and drive actionable steps toward tobacco control and public health improvement.
