Pramod Madwaraj inaugurates MCODS annex

Manipal, August 12: The OPD Annex of Manipal College of Dental Sciences, Manipal was inaugurated by Mr Pramod Madwaraj, Minister for Youth Affairs, Sports and Fisheries, and District In-charge Minister – Udupi at the Chaitya Hall in Fortune Inn Valley View here on Friday in the presence of Dr Ramdas M Pai, Chancellor Manipal Academy of Higher Education, Dr H S Ballal, Pro Chancellor Manipal Academy of Higher Education, Dr H Vinod Bhat Vice Chancellor Manipal Academy of Higher Education and Dr Nirmala Rao, Dean MCODS, Manipal.While inaugurating the Annex Mr Madwaraj said; “I am happy to note the quality of health care services and world class educational facilities being offered by Manipal Academy of Higher Education. To become the top university in the world should be the challenge.”

Dean of MCODS, Manipal Dr Nirmala Rao said that the Dental OPD Annex, the new dental Out Patient Department Annexe provides a specialty level clinical experience with modular concept of space planning. The 29,562 square feet facility is housed on two floors with provision of hi-tech dental chairs, mini-libraries, computer terminals, seminar halls with modern audio-visual aids and faculty chambers.

A comprehensive range of modern dental equipment such as the Piezosurgery unit, Surgical Operating microscope, Iontophoresis kit, Vista scan, Soft tissue and hard tissue lasers [Erbium], Ultrasonic Endodontics amongst others, have been instituted to provide exceptional dental care. The open, interdisciplinary platform in the new OPD Annexe strengthens relationships between the various dental specialty programs emphasizing continuity of care, Dr Nirmala Rao added.
