The Department of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery in association with Johnson and Johnson Institute on Wheels organized a 1-day Basic Surgical Skill workshop on 13^th  December 2023 at MCODS, LHH Campus, Mangalore for Postgraduate students and Interns on Basic Surgical Skills. These skills  will help students in their day-to-day practice.

This was an Industry-Academia collaborative effort to train young surgeons in performing safe surgery in a dedicated training laboratory with use of simulators and training models outside of the operating room, in Johnson & Johnson Institute on Wheel (JJIW) based skill lab training.

Dr. Ashitha Uppoor, Dean MCODS, Mangalore inaugurated the event.

Participants were trained in basic and advanced suturing techniques with the help of simulators and training models. A Total of 42 participants including both Postgraduate students and interns were trained. All the participants enjoyed learning experience and the training given to them.
