World Oral Health Day Celebrations 2015

The World Oral Health Day 2015 was celebrated on 20 March 2015 and Manipal College of Dental Sciences, Mangalore took upon itself to spread the message of Oral Health to the community in a unique way. Programs related to oral health were conducted by the Department of Public Health Dentistry and were spread over the entire week from 15 March onwards.

March 20, 2015

1. Dental treatment camp: was organized at Ashoknagar, Mangalore on15th March, in association with SEZ, Mangalore. A total of 30 patients were provided Comprehensive oral health care. 

2. Mass tooth brushing program – was organized on 16th March at Kottara Government school, where 200 children participated. A health talk using laptop and overhead projector was also given. Toothbrushes and toothpaste were distributed to all the participants. 

3. Denture camp – Was conducted at Moodbidri Community Health Centre on 20 March where 50 patients were provided with dentures.

4. Oral health awareness program: Was conducted at KMC Hospital Attavar on 20 March, where a stall was put up and pamphlets were distributed to the patients and their families. Those who were in need of dental treatment were referred to Department of Public Health Dentistry, Manipal College of Dental Sciences, Mangalore for treatment. More than a hundred people were targeted in this awareness program. Tooth brushing demonstrations was also given.
A banner of World Oral Health Day was displayed on the Mobile Dental Bus, in order to provide visibility to the World Oral Health day, so that people realize the importance of Oral Health.
